This would be funny if it wasn't so dry here: Early yesterday morning our forecast called for 100% chance of heavy to torrential downpours during the day. No early rain. By 10 AM it had dropped to 50%. No rain. Late afternoon it was still dry and chances had dropped to near 0%. THEN it decided to rain, but only for a couple minutes. Temp sure was nice, though, in mid 70s.

Today it got up to 79o and nice and sunny. For the past couple weeks it has mostly been in the 70s with intermittent sprinkles of rain. The forecast shows that things are headed to our normal June weather. Wednesday looks like 93o and mid 90s all of next week. It is nicer when it is a gradual increase in temperature. Can't do anything about the weather except complain. Will take it as it comes.

The heat advisory has not been as bad as forecast. They predicted temperatures up to 106o. It only got up to 99o. Today it only made it to 87o with winds of 23 mph. Vary hazy. Can't tell if there are some grass fires or if it is dust in the air. They are harvesting potatoes and that combined with the wind would kick up a lot of dirt. No rain so more like our normal summer weather than the past couple months.
News today said it was a structural fire that became a grass fire. The building was saved.

We've been getting a lot of mid-90s, but later afternoons we have clouds drift in. They threaten rain, but haven't given us any, but they do cool things down into the 70s for awhile. Forecast says more of the same for the near future.

Last July Eastern Washington was declared in Exceptional Drought. This year after the wettest May - June since 1895, we have been up graded to Abnormally Dry.
Currently it is 101o. The forecast for the next ten days is 100+ up to 110o. Zero rain expected. But none of the 115o temperatures of last year.

The weather forecast said 0% chance of rain. But we got about 3 raindrops this afternoon. That equals approximately 0.000000000000000001 inch of rain, none of it actually hit the ground. It is a bit cooler today, only 99o.

It has been seasonal.... Today we had a high of 91 and muggy. Most of the week we had temps up and down. We did get 2.5 inches of rain this week and the grass has now turned back to a green color. I will be mowing on Tuesday or Wed. Haven't actually mowed our lawn since June. Coming week says some rain on Sunday and Monday but come tuesday a clearing and cooler temps. Kenny wants to get the next hay field cut this week.

We have been under heat advisories for most of the past month. Had a couple days it only was in the low 90s. This afternoon was 97o. Thought about taking a trip up to the mountains but it isn't much cooler any place within a 2 hour drive. Could go over to the coast but don't want to drive 5 hours.
Our last rain was on 14 June when we had 0.04 inch. None in the forecast. September is coming.
.HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM WEDNESDAY TO 11 PM PDT FRIDAY...
WHAT...Temperatures up to 103 expected.

Very nice weather as far as the temps go. We have had a couple of days of rain off and on. Showers come and go. A dark cloud goes over and the sprinkles fall. It is raining now at 7:45AM but hopefully it will stop soon as I need to pick Sweet Corn.

The forecast said that today was supposed to get to 105o. It only got up to 89o. Not complaining that the weatherman was wrong. Yesterday there were lots for fires in northern Oregon, 40 miles away. Most of the interstate from mid-OR to ID was closed. The wind was out of the south so we got lots of smoke. Don't think we saw the sun all day.
The 14-day forecast does not show any more triple digit temperatures. Only a few days in the 90s. Got my electric bill today. July and August shows that my A/C did a lot of work. Sometimes you just have to spend the money.

Again I think of those covered wagon pioneers who settled this land despite boiling hot summers and bone chilling winters. What amazing people they were! And the Native Americans were doing it before we ever arrived. I don't know about all y'all, but I'm such a wimp!
