Snow in mid April in eastern WA? I have seen this before in MT and ME, even snow in August in Butte, but not here. The yard and street are completely covered.
Plus, yesterday was a fairly nice day so I opened all the windows then forgot to close them last night. Currently 32o outside and 57o inside. Just closed the windows.
TRI-CITIES, NEW SNOWFALL RECORD! 2.2" recorded on the ground by 9am in Richland this morning! Our forecasters say last time it has snowed enough to measure, this late in the year, was in the 1930s.
Hope that the shrubs pop back up.

Need to make a note to yourself: Pay attention to weather forecasts!!
We are looking at 2 days of low 40s after today with some snow tomorrow, saying 90% chance. Likely no accumulation, but moisture is moisture!

Still on the cold side. Most of the snow is gone.
Be prepared for more for more rain and snow during the morning drive tomorrow!

Today we had a real mix. It depended where you were, half a mile sometimes made a world of difference. Where I am we had big wet snowflakes that melted as soon as they hit the ground. Every day this week we have had some snow. Monday's snow stayed through most of Tuesday. Since then it only stayed for an hour or so.
When is winter going to end?
State Patrol responded to eight collisions in a half-hour today as drivers on I-82 traversed snow, sleet, and rain.

We got snow on Tuesday and it really surprised everyone. At our place we got 4-5"! A lot melted as it fell, but it built up on fences and lawn furniture. It was wonderfully wet and soaked in as it melted. It was gone by Thursday, but sure was a welcome spring gift.
Now we're into the 60s and some 70s for awhile. But spring always brings wind too, so we'll abide with that for several more weeks.

It is also 70o here... inside the house. Got up to 41o this afternoon, cloudy with a few rain showers, not our normal sprinkles. Tonight down to 28o but then up to mid 50s later in the week. The false spring we had early in the month was nice but we can do without this late winter.
The sand cherry shrubs in front of the garage that the snow bent down have mostly sprung back up. They should be OK. The lilacs are blooming and don't seem to be bothered by the weather.

We've had 70s this week, excellent for working outside. Raine is trying to get some flowers growing in places. We also bought some huge pots and hope to get some veggies going. There's a chance of rain this PM and tonight, and temps will drop to upper 50s for a couple days. This is not sad considering that...
...Gillette is under a blizzard warning for the weekend. Wx service always suggest snow totals, such as 3-5 inches. I added the largest possible accumulations for tonight, Saturday and Saturday night, and they could see up to 23 inches...with 40-50 mph winds!!!!!
One of the worst 3-day blizzards I remember in NE Wyoming was the last week of April, 1984.

We have had some really nice weather. Not too hot just about right. I have my flowers and my vegetable garden all planted. Kenny has the first rows of sweet corn in. Coming week will be doing all the weed whipping and spraying.

Today it has only gotten up to 64o. Last week we had a few days in the low 70s. The ten day forecast shows temps from 72 to 85. It has been mostly cloudy with intermittent sprinkles every day and the forecast is the same.
Annually we average 6 inches of rain. Since January we have had 3.67 inches. Usually there is no rain from April to September.

Summer is most definitely here. Our 2-week forecast shows mid to upper 80s and one 90 with little chance of rain. I'm not whining about the heat...yet.

This spring has been out and out strange. The last couple days we have had few sprinkles for maybe 10 minute then a couple hours later a few more minutes of sprinkles. Not what you would call real rain. We don't even have and water puddles. But to the east of us in Walla Walla and Pendelton they are on flood watch. They have been getting more of the rain. Much of it is coming from the snow melt in the mountains on the Idaho border. But the snow melt of the mountains to the west has not caused any flood watches ..yet. Drove over the Yakima river yesterday, it is high but many feet below flood stage. Last I heard, several weeks ago was that the mountains still were at 125% normal snow pack. Haven't had any really hot days so the melt has been slow. Flood warnings are very rare in the interior NW. (desert)

The best time of the year for weather. It has been awesome this week with temps in the lower 70's. Hear the temps will be rising soon.

We've run low to mid 90s this past week. Still dry in town, looks like the mountains south and west might have gotten a touch of rain.
Today we had strong southerly winds, and it brought up the smoke from the fire that is burning near Flagstaff, AZ. VERY smoky today! They say northerly wind tomorrow, so hopefully things will clear up.
