No winds today but more of the snow/rain mix. High today was 33. The black asphalt is all clear and dry.
Just went out to put trash in the can and roll it to the roadway for pickup. The lid was frozen shut. Hit it a couple times on the side with a hammer and it opened.

Special alert from the National Weather Service:
DANGEROUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES EXPECTED NEXT WEEK...
An arctic air mass is expected to bring significantly colder temperatures beginning early next week and continuing into the New Year. Multiple days of high temperatures below freezing with overnight lows into the single digits and below zero are forecast. Wind chills below zero will be possible.
With this extreme cold, frost bite and hypothermia will occur much faster. If outdoors, remember to dress in layers and cover exposed skin. Uncovered pipes will be susceptible to freezing and bursting.
Next week - highs in the teens lows in single digits. Having lived in Montana and Maine and survived many -35 days this isn't that cold. But when you don't see it every year ....
Currently 44o with 22 mph wind. Not much of a chance of snow for the next couple weeks.

OK, we're having a tan Christmas. It was going to be brown, but yesterday afternoon we got a light snow shower that collected in some places. So brown mixed with white equals a tan Christmas. We are to get near 45 today, then dropping to low 30s next week with maybe some more snow.

Had a brown Christmas, but every day since we have had enough snow to keep the ground covered. Probably haven't had a total of two inches. Haven't seen temperatures over 25o since last week. Next week it is supposed to get up to low 30s. Good thing though is that there hasn't been much wind.

Our trip back to South Dakota saw spring-like weather...temps in 50s and a few 60s, very little wind and lots of sunshine.
From Sioux Falls we went on Wednesday to Grinnell, IA to see our two grandkids, and had great weather. We stayed there that night and then headed home. Luckily we did because they had tornados yesterday!!
Actually had some tail wind on Thursday coming across Iowa and Nebraska...east winds are unusual. Spent the night in Ogallala, NE.
Friday was foggy till we got into Colorado, then was just cloudy. Head wind this day. Got into the mountains and had partly cloudy with a bit of snow flakes at Monarch Pass. Was raining a bit when we got to Montrose.
This morning we have a touch of snow on the ground with flurries possible, but is 30º now. More winter weather in the forecast.

We had some small snow showers this week, but the forecast is for a warming trend, some 50s and even a possible 60.
The landscape rocks edging our front yard by the street have little green things growing among them, even a few blades of stray grass. I'm gonna have to break out the herbicide!

We have a spring mix... nice weather 40's the snow all left the next morning we had snow again. Now today it is 19 and the snow isn't melting. But I think I see that we are to hit the 50's and 60 this week. Maybe we will see robins again.

Quite a bit of wintery weather this past week. Yesterday and today we have had a dusting of snow each morning. That is ok if we can get back to the 40's again soon.

Lots of wind this last week. Also a few showers of the frozen variety. Hoping April will bring our turn for no more snow.
