The wind is not blowing and we are under a Air Stagnation Advisory. It started Tuesday and is expected to last until next Tuesday. The forecast doesn't show any winds for the next two weeks so the stagnation could last longer. Today the high was 38o and the fog lasted all day. Couldn't see anything. Freezing fog on the roads until mid-afternoon. Tomorrow is forecast with a high of 42o and sunshine so maybe the fog will lift.

The forecast was wrong. High today was 35o, wind 1-3 mph, sun never showed. Fog all day. Freezing Fog Advisory along with the Air Stagnation Advisory until tomorrow afternoon. Doesn't look any better for the next two weeks.

Thankfully it has been pretty mild here. Some 40s but mainly in the 50s. Also not as much rain has been falling, which is good. Our land is oversaturated, still draining and the creeks are running 1-2 ft above normal. So any rain we get causes flooding.

Had an inch on the ground this morning. While I was fixing breakfast it started snowing hard. By the time I was ready to eat, it had stopped, but left another inch in its wake.
Going to 38 today, but staying below freezing for the next 3 days.

The local forecast today gave us the Old Farmers Almanac prediction for Christmas.
Seattle, known for its wet weather, actually won’t see any precipitation on Dec. 25, the almanac predicts. The same is true for most of the cities on the west side of the Cascades, including Bellingham, Tacoma, Vancouver and Olympia, according to the almanac’s tool.
But across the mountains, snow is more likely to fall on Christmas Day, the almanac predicts. Central Washington, including cities like Ellensburg, Wenatchee, Leavenworth and Cle Elum, will likely get a white Christmas.
Eastern Washington will also likely get snow on Dec. 25, including the Tri-Cities, Spokane, Pullman, Walla Walla and Chewelah, so skiers and snowboarders will have fresh snow to shred on Christmas, the almanac predicts
On the other hand the Weather Channel shows mostly cloudy with 37o and a 20% chance of precipitation on the 25th.
Check back next week to see if we have a White Christmas.

We got another 2-3" last night, that gives us about 6" over the last week. Forecast shows some thawing temps over the weekend and early week, but I don't think a lot will go away. Those are high forecasts, so it'll take most of the day to warm up to that. No forecast of moisture between now and Christmas. Supposed to be clear and 37 on Christmas Day.

See my post from 17 December:
Looks like the Old Farmers Almanac prediction for Christmas was correct. West of the Cascades they had some rain and there was snow on the east side.
It started snowing about 7:00 am and has been coming down since. Unlike our normal light, fluffy and dry snow this is heavy and wet. So far about 3 inches. High today has been 31o but is forecast to get up to 33o by midnight. The roads will be an icy mess. Tomorrow is forecast to get up to 40o with a bit of sun, so the snow will be gone. We did get a white Christmas. Actually this is better than the six white Christmases I spent in northern Maine when it would be white for five months.

My general feeling about winter is that it can snow on Dec. 24 and melt on the 26th.
We had 4-6" in the last week and a half. Yesterday was sunny and 35...beautiful day. Today is to be mostly sunny and 41...another one! Some streets have polished ice on them...hope today removes a bunch of that!

Woke up this morning and it was snowing again. By 12:30 when I had to go to an appointment in Richland the temperature was up to 34o and it was raining. But no wind. There is still snow on some of the side streets. Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up some so maybe the white stuff will be gone.

So far we have had a ok January. It is cold 20 this morning high of 34. We have some snow and the roads are clear although the driveway is icy due to thawing and freezing of snow. From one of the farm shows we watch they are calling for a snowy february.

Woke up this morning at 39 degrees, going to 53, currently 52!! Then we get several days of 40s, but then down to 30s again. A few chances of some moisture, but nothing to get excited about. Been having a lot of clouds lately, need some sun for a change. Got a couple inches of snow the last week, but nothing to get excited about.

Checked the forecast last night. It said today the temperatures were going to be in the upper 20s with some snow.
Today the high has been around 18o, with high winds and it has been snowing since last night. Weather advisory continuing the same until tomorrow evening.
Sometimes the forecast is not worth reading.

Yesterday was moving day and we had cloudy, around 40 degrees and a few afternoon misty rain showers...after the work was done.
This morning we have 18º and 5-6" of snow and still snowing! What perfect timing!
Forecast is for mid-30s all week, 40s over the weekend, and 50s next week.
