The last several days the leaves have been flying here. The trees that turn early are bare now while the late ones are just turning color. One day our street is full of leaves flowing northward, then the wind reverses the next day and they all head south. Each day I clean up the pile in front of my garage. Yesterday wind was from NW, today the SW, all in the 25-35 mph range.
Today we're to be 69, tomorrow 51, and 43 on Thursday. Forecast says 33 and 15 on Sunday after a 60 on Friday! Small chances of moisture on a couple days.
Oh well,I guess we take what we get...not like we can do anything about it.

NOAA issued its annual whack at an official winter outlook on Thursday, and as expected, is indicating fairly strong confidence that the Pacific Northwest will see both a cooler and wetter than normal winter.
No. I don't want to see cold and wet.

Currently snowing lightly in Gillette, supposed to get 1-3" by tomorrow. Temp is 33, going to 35 today, 19 tonight. The two-week forecast period has this Wednesday as the warmest day at 48. A couple days later in the period will be only upper 20s.
I was able yesterday to get my rain gutters cleaned out and the yard mowed (some leaves picked up) since it hit 55 degrees. There are still a lot of leaves yet to fall! They'll have to stay the winter and I'll clean them up next spring. I still have the yard in Montrose to take care of too!!

This morning when I woke up I checked the weather on my phone including Gillette. I was shocked at what I saw. Will not complain about our temps in the 50s.

It has taken to being cold here. It was nice earlier in the week but a front blew thru Thursday night and the temps were near 50 today and it was 34 this morning no frost but the night before we did have a frost/freeze. I see that near Houghton in the UP it was snowing....brrrrr. am not ready for that yet. This coming week looks to be cool and damp.

The beginning of the week was cool but warmed and Friday we had 70 degrees with thunderstorms. The cool front went thru and it was 34 this AM but warmed to 42. Was out most of the afternoon and it was really quite nice as the sun was out. Cut my raspberries all down. Can officially say I am done with the garden for the year.

The first half of October was warmer than usual so today at 39o with a 26 mph wind it felt really nasty. But we didn't have the snow. Monday morning it is forecast to be down to 17o. The sprinkler blowout guy was supposed to come today but had problems so will be here tomorrow. I am not ready for this. The forecast shows some temperatures in the 50s late next week.

Yesterday we had a high of 26. This morning it is 6 with a forecast high of 10. Tonight we are to go to -5 and back to 24 on Monday. By Friday they're saying 57.
We had 3-4" of snow yesterday with possibly a bit more today. Time to shovel the driveway!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It has been raining since yesterday about noon. The type of rain that the intermittent speed on your windshield wipers is too fast. Not a lot of rain, just constant. High today 49o with a low of 36o. More of the same for tomorrow with increased wind.

We've had early fall weather since we got here...mostly sunny and mid to upper 60s. Last night things changed. We got a skiff of snow that's already melted, but they're saying 1-3" tonight--60% chance. Then it looks like a couple upper 30s and then mostly 40s for the extended period.
I was able to get most of the yard work done, except for some wooden fence repairs. Since I spent my career working outside, I reckon I can handle doing some fence work with temps in the 40s. But then again, I've gotten pretty soft over the years...

Snowflakes possible in Tri-Cities region as temperatures dip, or so the local paper says. The forecast for tonight shows a low of 38o with a 70% chance of rain tonight until midnight. The next couple of nights it says 29-31o with daily highs in the lower 50s but no precipitation. Will just have to take it as it comes.

Was raining when we went to bed, woke up to a skiff of snow this morning, at 34º. Forecast says sunny by afternoon. Looking at mostly 40s for the week.
I'm feeling rather smug today...yesterday I used the mower to pick up leaves. Got the yard done just in time for winter!!

Mid 40s, no rain and no wind. Overcast but looks like a good day.
