I really wasn't misbehaving that much...I didn't think...but over two days Kevin Harvick came roaring past me! I was suddenly back where I weighed in late June!! Today I was down half of Kurt Busch, but I sure did get blindsided by Kevin! It's so depressing how quickly weight goes on, and how slowly it comes off.
I am guilty of an attitude change in that I find it easier to "justify" that I deserve that extra cookie or a small 2nd helping of supper casserole. I need to readjust and get back to where I was mentally in the spring. "Walk away from it, you're not gonna starve!"

It isn't misbehaving. Sometimes you just have to listen to what your inner self needs. Sometimes that extra bit of food represents love.

It isn't misbehaving. Sometimes you just have to listen to what your inner self needs. Sometimes that extra bit of food represents love. Like today...we were hungry for tacos. Went to Taco John's and got the "6-pack and a pound"...6 tacos and a pound of potato Oles. Way too salty (LOVED it!), so I'm sure I'll be full of water at tomorrow's weigh-in. But it was love at first bite, and tasted sooo good!! I can always lose it later.

It's just the same ol' same ol'. I gain one, lose one; gaine two, lose two. As I alluded to earlier, I've gotten quite good at maintaining a narrow range. It'd be so easy to shoot upwards, but I'm being successful at not doing that. I guess that in itself is victory enough.

Three years ago I lost Johnson plus 2. The last half of the '16 season I gained back Patrick. Since the first of the year I have lost Trevor Bayne. Haven't been trying but just stopped the snacking. If I can keep up this mindset might just get down to where I want to be. Actually I am proud of myself for keeping that much weight off for three years. Back in 2014 I lost Johnson plus 2. For the past three years I have been holding Ricky Stenhouse Jr. from my all time high. I haven't been able to get my mindset into it. Statistically, fewer than 12% of people manage to maintain a weight loss for five years, so I have done good. I am going to start again. Will use my early September weight as the new starting point. In the past two weeks I have gotten past Austin Dillon. Good start. Now to keep on going. Last night I had the munchies real bad but it didn't show on the scales this morning.

Just maintaining is success. Don't beat yourself up over it. Just take one day at a time,

Thanksgiving has been very very bad to me! Or, in other words, Bob ate out of control and is feeling remorse.
I gained Austin Dillon from where I was a couple days prior. I know, lots of salt...it'll be relatively easy to drop most of that. But I do admit that I over-ate a couple times during the day, and must therefore pay the price.
But what's discouraging is that I'm heavier now than I've been since April!! And Christmas is yet to come!
I'll get back down, I know I will, but being on a lifelong diet is discouraging enough in itself! Then to have the eating-est holidays of the year come along...depressing!

Since back in 2014 I have lost one Ty Dillon. Since May of this year I have lost one Chase Briscoe. True for eight years I sat at a plateau but didn't gain any back. Since May it has been at 3 pounds per month. Slow and steady. Still in the overweight range but making progress.

I'm so proud of you!! I wish I had your determination. Your progress is truly wonderful and to be admired!
Over the last 4-5 years I have been Chris Bell over my desired weight, plus or minus a few. I'm pleased to be maintaining, but I'm not maintaining where I want to be! My will power has diminished as I've aged, along with my level of activity.

Well, I'm starting out the new year heavier than I was before Thanksgiving. I also gained a bit over Christmas, but held the line for New Years. It's too easy when there's food around to just indulge now and then. But it's no fun to constantly deny one's cravings, although I do try to limit quantities.
But it's also no fun to diet---simply said. I want to lose Chris Bell, but don't have the personal drive to push through. I expect I'll creep back down to pre-T'giving weight, but don't know about after that. It's just too fun to eat!!!

Since I retired 16 months ago, I have lost about 20 - 25 lbs. Those state workers sure do like to eat. I have cut down eating to once a day. Maybe twice if I get up extra early.

Congratulations on your retirement, Doug. You should have let us know when it happened! What are you doing to stay busy? Come see us more often!
I admire those who have the self control to limit their food intake. I can sometimes do it, but more often just surrender. I'm nowhere near as active as I used to be, so burning calories isn't happening like it was. Anyway, I have a "beer belly" without beer being the cause (I don't drink alcohol).
I'll continue watching my weight as best I can, and hopefully will see it slowly decreasing.

The last two weeks I have had the munchies big time. Going to blame it on the cancer treatment. Have given in and have gained five pounds. Tomorrow is my last day of treatments. Will give my body some time to return to "normal" and not worry about the weight. In a few weeks will see how I feel and see what I want to do about the weight. The new jeans I bought a couple months ago are snug and I got rid of the old size jeans. There is no way I want to buy the larger size again.

A short update. Since starting this journey in 2016 I am now down Ty Dillon (77 pounds). Down Austin Dillon in the past month. There have been long stretches where I just hung at the same weight but never gained any back except for the five pounds I gained during the cancer treatment and they came off the next month. It hasn't been easy or fast but slow.
