I'm late checking in this week, been out traveling. Anyway, I lost just over Kurt Bush this last week, so that means I've passed Denny Hamlin so far.
This week might mean he gets back past me again. We went to Denver for a couple days. I tried to maintain a decent diet, but most likely failed at supper times. Shannon is a good cook, as are the people at Ruby Tuesday restaurant!! Breakfast and lunch I did kinda good. We'll see come Monday.

I am pleased!! This week I got past Kez!! In total I got around Ty Dillon.
I thought surely the trip to Denver would cost me positions, but it didn't. I guess this proves I can cheat a little bit. But I don't want to get proud and start screwing up!! Steady wins the race...

Alrighty then, I lost Kurt Bush again this past week, which means I got around Clint Boyer. I've been able to move in one notch on my belt...it's always great to be able to SEE results!

I held my position in the pack...didn't pass anyone or get passed. I kinda lost my concentration and didn't drive too well. A couple times at supper I stayed in the pits too long and went in for seconds, which should never happen! We also had Pizza Hut one night, which should never happen! But every now and then, we deserve a treat. With that behind me, I'm back into the thick of the race and trying to surge ahead. Look out ahead, I'm coming through!

Because of traveling back to Wyoming last week, I didn't get an entry made here, so I'll pick up where I left off.
Progress is slow, to put it mildly. In 2 weeks I've only passed Kurt Bush again. That puts me between Brennen Poole and Chris Buescher in the pack.
I've been following the substance of the diet well, just not so much the quantities. Supper meals are difficult to control since there are almost always leftovers, oftentimes hardly enough to justify keeping for another meal. There's where I run into problems!
Oh well, time to get up on the wheel and hunker down for the long run.

I did get up on the wheel this week and was doing very well...until yesterday. Salty popcorn, too much lunch, and sitting too much is not good!! I was just about past Austin Dillon when I slipped in the corner and dropped a bit behind Kez. So I'm still running just ahead of Chris Buescher at this point. I'm going after Kyle Busch this week! Gotta stop spinning my rear tires!

Well heck, Kurt Busch got by me again. I've been stuck in this position all week! It's frustrating, but I'm sure you all understand because we've all been in this predicament before. Sometimes we just have to be content to cruise around awhile while waiting for conditions to change. In racing those conditions might be sunlight or clouds, hot or cooler, day or night. In dieting I don't know what they might be, but I do know that sometimes you lose weight and sometimes you don't.
Not giving up! Heck, I just ordered new quantities of SlimFast shake mixes, won't let them go to waste...or waist!

Up until yesterday I was having a great week!...I'd lost Austin Dillon!! But yesterday I had a bit too much for lunch, and then we decided to junk food for supper and went out to get tacos and tater tots.
This morning I gained Kez again (I'm sure it's mostly water retention due to the salt). But I am still a bit more than Kurt Bush under where I was a week ago, so it was a worthwhile week. In other words, I DID finally get by Kyle Bush in total! Now to maintain and gain on that position...looking for Martin Truex.

Weekends are killing me!!!
I eat diet food all week, then the weekend comes and we're tired of cooking, so we have something easy...TV dinner, pizza, take-out from a food joint. And between the salt and extra calories, I lose what I gained during the rest of the week.
At one point this week I was even with Matt DiBenedetto, but as of this morning I've drifted back behind Martin Truex again. It's frustrating, yet I did gain one spot over where I was last week at this time.
I guess nothing worthwhile is ever easy. At least that's what they say...

I'm building a greater distrust for my bathroom scale. It's digital, but doesn't seem all that consistent in my opinion. I weighed the other evening, showered, and reweighed...lost over a pound!! I know I wasn't THAT dirty!!
This week was disappointing up until this morning. I'd been gaining tenths-of-a-pound each day until yesterday when I suddenly lost just over Kurt Bush, and then did it again this morning!! According to my scale I have pulled alongside Joey Logano over the last two days!
I'll accept that and see what this new week brings. Initially I was hoping to be near Cory LaJoie by Memorial Day. Haven't achieved that, but am 2/3 there. Like the Energizer Bunny, I'm still going.

This week I gained Kurt Bush again, therefore falling behind Joey once again. I've been in this general position in the field for several weeks now and it's getting old. I still have trouble with portion size for the evening meal. After eating I want more and more! I allow myself 2 cookies for a sweet treat. It's just a near-constant battle with myself, though, to not find something else to eat.
But then by bedtime, I am feeling full enough to just get a drink and head for bed. It's like it takes 2 or 3 hours for my system to realize it's not starving!
The race continues. I am not getting anywhere fast, but am hopeful that progress will resume someday soon. I hope is to lose Aric Almirola to achieve goal. We'll see...

I have been yo-yoing lately...up one, down one, up again. This past week I got past Kurt Busch once again so am now running with my hood barely ahead of Joey. I've been avoiding the popcorn, hence the salt. But I did give in to a milkshake last weekend...Lord, it was wonderful!!
We're still running the race and striving to gain more positions. Nothing much to add to that...

Well alrighty then! I had a good week finally...lost Kez which means I got past William Byron.
Now it gets difficult, at least writing about it. There are no cars with numbers 25-31, so I will have to report totals in plain numbers! So much for code...
That's all for this week. The race goes on.

I have made an important discovery...it can take a month to lose 3 pounds, but a day to gain it back!!
Granted, we ate fast food twice this week, but dang, I gained Austin Dillon!, then lost Kurt Busch. Compared to last week, I gained Kez. Overall I'm running between Logano abd Byron.
I'm getting tired of denying...cookies, chips, 2nd helpings, cake, snacks. But I just have to reset my attitude, remembering the ultimate goal. Here goes...

I haven't reported in for the last 6-7 weeks because nothing reportable has happened. I've been hanging at the same weight, give or take a couple pounds, which is Joey Logano from the weight I started at. I'd love to lose Aric Almirola more, but I seem to be just maintaining where I'm at. It's not really disappointing, since I haven't gained back anything. If this is where I'm supposed to be, I guess that's OK. If I keep up what I've been doing, I'll consider it as a lesson learned. Anyway, here's to tomorrow and the next day and the next...
