Thought that some of the Turn2 family might like to see some of the area around where I live. The opening of the video is what my side and back yard look like.
The other day one of the neighbors had one of the Pygmy Rabbits in their yard and called the Fish and Wildlife to return it to an area away from the housing. There is a fairly large population of them on the Hanford site where they are protected but they are an endangered species. The Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit is an isolated population of pygmy rabbit, that is native only to a single Columbia Basin area of Washington state. They are the smallest rabbit in North America. An adult rabbit will fit in your hand.
Everything I have found on the internet says that in the early 2000s there were only about 50 in the wild but I know there were more than that at Hanford. Or maybe they just gathered where I as working.
We also have Nuttall's cottontail rabbits and hares (Black-tailed jackrabbit and some White-tailed jackrabbits.)

Oh my gosh, they're so CUTE!!! Hopefully the efforts to save them pay off.
With all that brush, I'm amazed that the whole area doesn't burn more often.
Thanks for the look into your habitat.

Those little bunnies are so cute. I do hope they will continue to grow in population.
