It is that time of year when the wild folks in the fields are migrating to find warmer shelters for the cold months. Often we will find mice and such that invade our garages. ... Last night I was on my computer in the spare bedroom watching a video. Felt something on my leg. A mouse was climbing up my pants. Today I went out and bought two packages of mouse traps then placed them around the house. While I am willing to share, there is only so much.
I live in a semi-rural area where everyone is on 1 or 5 acre lots. Most of my neighbors have horses, chickens, sheep, cattle or hogs. There will always be rodents in the fields surrounding the human homes. We just need to convince them that our homes are not their homes.

Know the routine well. I had to laugh when someone years ago told me that we shouldnt have mice because we had a new home. Mice don't care if your home ois new or used.š I make it a daily thing to be sure the traps are all ready for the takers.
Hope you have good luck!

We have corn fields across the road from our neighborhood. In the 2-1/2 years we've been here we've had no mouse or rat problems (knock on wood!). Hope that continues!

There's a radio ad here for a pest control company in which they claim a mouse can squeeze through an opening the size of a pencil !!

I believe it. There is no way to make any home 100% rodent proof. As 88cars38 said mice can even get into new homes. It hasn't helped that I snack while on the computer and there probably are a few crumbs on the floor.

Mice cost me over 600$ a free years back when they took up residence in the vent system of my CAR! Those Lillie pests can get thru the tiniest of holes! Having a cat or two helps some, but nothing is foolproof with them.
