www.nascar.com/news-media/2023/03/18/nascar-cup-series-kyle-busch-cup-series-drivers-respect/ Kyle is probably right in some regards. There does seem to be a lot more intentional contact than what was for awhile. But think about it...
We've all heard about the use of the "chrome horn" back in the days. Dale Earnhardt was a master at it. There have always been the fisticuffs behind the garage. Those evolved and moved out to pit road during the early days of Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick and others. Even Kyle himself was confrontational at times.
Everyone wants to win, and if someone does something to deny them a win, anger is a natural emotion. But NA$CAR really stepped up the game when they promoted "Have at it, boys". Perhaps they've tried to subdue it somewhat, but that cat was already out of the bag.
It used to be that getting involved in a wreck was a good way to get hurt. Drivers knew that and did their anger management behind the garage. The modern cars are so safe and injuries so seldom that they've become weapons of revenge. With today's mega-millions in sponsorships, the drivers (and teams) are willing to sacrifice their cars to exact "justice". Remember "bring back the steering wheel"?
Now that Kyle is one of the veterans, he wants things to change to where proper respect is afforded. Until NA$CAR makes some drastic revisions in penalties, I don't see much improving. The last two races have been rather boring except for the end, and fans are enjoying the warfare out there. I believe they want to see more.
JMHO.

Well said Bob. Problem with NASCAR is consistency in regulating. We all know the chances of that happening is slim to none!
