OK, this is my turn to vent.
Several times you may have heard me say that the local area is about to revolt. It is becoming more true daily.
The local health department and city requested a modification to Phase 1 for the county. They proposed allowing gatherings of up to 5 non-family individuals, opening of barber shops, hair salons, pet groomers, limited out door seating at restaurants and the requirement of face masks for all employees.
Some of the reasons they listed was that many citizens feel they are being targeted and trapped. Individuals are driving to other counties that are in Phase 2 or 3 to enjoy a sit down meal, shop or get their hair done. By traveling to these areas they may be spreading COVID. The rates of burglaries, drive by shootings, homicides, suicides and other various crimes and mental health issues has increased. In the past two weeks 7 cats have been found in random areas that had been mutilated. The county is on a downward trajectory economically and socially.
The number of new cases in long term health care facilities has been reduced. Most of the new cases are in the agricultural area and random or unknown community spread.
The state rejected the proposal.
They need to look at more than just the total numbers. Yes, we still have new cases, 127 in the past week. It it is obvious that the current lock-up is not working. Will it really help to continue keeping everything closed down for several more months?
One positive for me. My hair stylist is opening this week and I will get my hair cut. Yes, it is against the rules.

Viva la Revolution!!
Many governments are treating their citizens like subjects rather than like the bosses, which we are. We need to step outside THEIR comfort zone and confront them. Wanna protest?...go to city hall or county HQ or the state capital. Get involved in running OUR governments. Show them we're mad as hell and ain't gonna take it anymore!!

Yakima county is having more problems with COVID-19 than Benton and Franklin counties. The governor just told them "No masks no services. No masks, no goods."
He has already told us (Ben Franklin) that they should enforce the wearing of masks by everyone and group gatherings should be broken up. The two counties have said they will encourage individuals to follow the rules to wear masks and no gatherings of non-family members but enforcing the rules is unconstitutional. Looks like there may be a standoff.

The governor made a trip to the local area. He was not warmly welcome. He did not invite the public or elected officials. Health Department, mayors and media only. But many of the public crashed the meeting as it was outdoors. The main message is that they are going to wait another two weeks to see if the public is complying with wearing masks and "maybe" they will consider moving to a modification of Phase 1. The death rate has remained low in the two counties though there have been more confirmed cases. Basically we are still locked up and no gatherings of non-family members. They should think of some sort of phone or computer mental health programs, the need is increasing. All I have heard them talk about is social distancing, wash your hands and wear masks. Nothing about how to deal with problems dealing with economics and social.
My rant for the day.

I'm just about to the point of saying open the whole country according to the old normal. Those who will get sick will get sick; those who will die, will die; those who will stay healthy will stay healthy. This virus is doing way more damage than just the illness itself!

Good news came late last night.
For the first time since late March, Tri-City area residents can get their hair cut, dine at a restaurant outside and shop indoors at more stores without leaving town.
Benton and Franklin County advanced to Phase 1.5 of business reopening Friday morning.
Under the modified Phase 1, these activities are allowed: ▪ New construction projects may be started and non-essential manufacturing may resume. ▪ Restaurants can serve outdoor diners with a limit of 50% of their outdoor capacity. ▪ Customers can shop in retail stores not classified as essential for up to 30 minutes. Stores can allow people inside at up to 15% of their capacity. ▪ Barber shops, hair and nail salons and tattoo parlors can reopen at 25% capacity. ▪ Dog groomers can reopen at 25% capacity. However, even small gatherings of non-household groups will continue to be banned, with the exception of counseling or other behavioral health groups of five or fewer people. The Health Department pushed on the issues of mental health issues and reducing the number of individuals that are traveling to counties that are in Phase 2 or 3.

Michigan is near revolt and most are doing the complete opposite of what greedy gretch says. She has many lawsuits against her and has lost several. We are finishing one petition to rewrite some of the amendments so this will not happen again. Yes it is time to stand up. If you are sick wear a mask or stay home otherwise let us be responsible and make our own choices. The hospitals are now prepared and there are some drugs for treatment. Unless you are going to wear a mask forever it is time to start living again.
