As of 7:00 PM this evening, Raine and I will have been married 50 years.
With the incredibly horrible memory that I possess, I can only remember one thing from our wedding ceremony...the minister, after he pronounced us married, said to me, "You may salute your bride." Since I was in the Air Force, the thought crossed my mind that he was joking with me. But then I realized that he'd merely changed the wording a bit, and I did what was expected and traditional, I kissed her.
Fifty years have rolled by very quickly when I look back on them, but we know in reality they trudged on as all years do. There were some exceedingly good times, and there were some pretty terrible times too. But overall my time with her has been precious and delightful. God gave me a winner and made us winners. God is good, praise be to GOD!

Fifty years is quite a feat! Congrats! Hubby and I have 3 years to go before we hit that mark! I've already informed our kids we plan on making that goal, so start preparing the party!!! LOL!

Congratulations on 47 Pat. Keep going for the gold!!
Raine wanted to have a party in good weather, so she is planning it for the end of May. It will be a 4-square party...our 50th, Monica (our youngest) and her hubby's 25th, Shannon (our oldest) and her hubby's 10th, and our grandson's hi school graduation.
It will be here in Montrose so friends from down south, and family and friends from up north can attend. From the sound of things, like a wedding, it will be a girl party. That's OK, they all deserve it.

A belated Happy 50th to you and Raine. You kind of celebrated like we did. Shelley's 25th, Matt's 10th.
