I dont see the need for assault rifles to be advertised. I'm all for gun ownership and the ability to conceal carry. My Dad, brother and son all hunt, but you dont hunt with assault rifles so why does anyone other than law enforcement or military need to have them? Again my opinion.

To me a handgun is more of an assault weapon than any kind of rifle. The handgun can be more easily hidden, carried more places undetected, and used more easily than a rifle. There are magazines for pistols that are nearly equal in capacity to most rifles.
I know, handguns aren't considered "assault" weapons, but explain that to all those people this year who have been assaulted by people with handguns! I bet their fear and pain levels are the same as if it'd been a "genuine" assault rifle!
By the way, since any gun can be used to assault someone, exactly what is an assault rifle? Why does its shape constitute the special name? The M1 was heavily used by our military in WWII...was it an assault rifle? They became available on the open market after the war. When I was in the military the M-16 was the weapon issued to our troops...was that an assault rifle? Today I don't know what the nomenclature is for the current military-issued weapon, but why would it be considered an assault rifle?
A rifle is a rifle, a handgun is a hand gun. And a knife is a knife (also used for assault by some), as are clubs, baseball bats, tire irons, fists, and anything else that can be used for assault.
The bottom line is, the user of the item is responsible for how it is used. If it's criminal activity, then the law SHOULD come into play...against the person, not the item.
JMHO.

I was reading about this and both of the outdoor places, oddly enough, that sponsor cars are run by liberals who are against the 2nd amendment. At least that is what the one article I read said. Seems strange that they would be against guns in a sporting goods store that sells guns... I wonder if they will be against the flag and anthem soon too. There was some comments on this article that said that nascar is becoming more liberal with the younger drivers etc being indoctrinated to be liberal and the older drivers are almost all gone. Guess we will wait and see what happens.

I've been mulling this over. I stopped watching baseball the last time the poor little rich guys went on strike for more money. I stopped watching football when the ungrateful wretches stopped honoring our flag and anthem, and the NFL refused to do anything about it. Now nastycar is displaying a non-allegiance to the Constitution.
Why am I punishing myself because of the actions of others? I can enjoy baseball now and then. I LIKE football. And I like watching cars go fast.
Will I stop watching racing?...probably not, cuz I like it, and I like chatting with you folks. Heck, I might even watch some football this winter! Baseball is still questionable...
