This morning she woke to severe pain when inhaling and shortness of breath. I took her to the ER, and they did a CAT scan and found a bunch of blood clots in her lungs. They got her on pain meds and blood thinners, and admitted her to the hospital for a couple days of observation.
The doc said it was good we got her in cause if she'd had another large one, it could have been fatal!!! She and I both tend to hesitate on pains and other things to see if they will get better on their own. I didn't delay very long this morning before I decided something was seriously wrong. So glad I made that decision!
We would appreciate your prayers for her recovery and return to good health. Thank you so much.

After staying in the hospital Saturday and most of Sunday we got to bring her home yesterday evening. She still has some pain, but meds are controlling that pretty well. She is on oxygen for awhile, still undetermined time Also blood thinner, probably forever. She slept pretty well last night and is sleeping now...has a lot of healing and recovering to do!
Thank you for prayer and support. I thank God for friends like you all.
Blessings to all for a happy, healthy prosperous New Year!

Raine is fortunate to have you to take care of her needs. Even if you have no medical background you are there to get her the help she needs even if it is just to drive her to the hospital. The past two weeks I have been fighting the flu. Christmas Eve I felt so bad I almost called my niece in MT to ask her to come take care of me. She would have but it would not have been fair to her family. Then I thought of calling you, just for some support. Again I didn't want to bother you. We all need to find some backup support when we cannot take care of ourselves.
Prayers for your family that you can be there for each other with the support that is needed.

Ilene, we know that you are away from family. NEVER hesitate to call one of us for any kind of support that you may need. I am so sorry to hear that you felt so bad, and I pray that you are much better now. Being sick is no fun at all when people are there to care for you. Being alone is horrible! God bless you with health and wealth and love and peace this coming year.

Went to doc appt today. He listened, explained and recommended. She will be on Eliquis, a blood thinner, for at least 3 months and then determine if needed from there. It's VERY expensive and we're praying insurance will be good to us! He also recommended she start using the oxygen 24/7 instead of just while sleeping, said she'd probably feel better sooner. The pain in her right lung will likely get better over the next 2-3 weeks. Because of the blood thinner she has to be extra cautious to not fall or bump herself...bruising could be severe. Also no cuts!!
She's feeling better day by day and her appetite is slowly returning. She still sleeps a lot, but that is getting better too. It was a scary happening, but things are looking up. We're not totally in the clear yet, but the future looks better every day.
Thank you all for prayers and well-wishes.
