It's been weeks since I've watched a newscast. The political situation in America has gotten so out of control that I almost don't care anymore. I do read some sites on the internet, and catch an occasional radio news program, but seldom. I subscribe to a few headline sites, and a couple where writers offer op-eds. But as for TV news, I've pretty much sworn off all the networks. There is just too much opinion-offering by the so-called "reporters". A friend told me he watched two different newscasts the other day, and despite them telling the same story, they were totally different stories! That's what I'd begun to experience, so I've mostly given up.
But that doesn't mean I'm clueless. I still keep an ear open and generally know what's happening...except in the cases of all the people who are under investigation for Russian collusion, FBI cheating, DNC money laundering and those kind of stories. I don't have any idea who is who and what they supposedly did.
But I will offer these thoughts:
1) Hollywood is completely corrupt, as we can tell by watching most any TV show or movie, and realizing that they merely reflect what's really happening...sex, sex, and sex!
2) Washington is completely corrupt, as we can tell by who's doing what to whom...and being investigated for it.
3) Politics is dead, history is being destroyed by politics, and school students are being taught politically-revised history.
4) The country is going crazy!
5) But these are just my opinions...you're entitled to your own.

Real journalist know that there is a difference between reporting and editorial comment. The current main stream media only know how to present opinions that they believe will bring them in more sponsors and more dollars. The news should only be presenting the facts and allow the viewers to develop their own opinions.

I agree fully with both of you. I was very mad last week when listening to the news. I started ranting to Kenny about it. I am usually "who cares" and will ignore them but it has gotten to the point I get very upset. I basically told Kenny exactly what Ilene said. Why can't they just report the facts. Instead they tell us their opinions. The newspapers put it in writing. Last fall the day before the election, their headline was " Vote for Hillary she is the best for you." They needed to present simple facts as to what each nominee was going to try to achieve. I did not and do not want any tv, radio or newspaper telling me their opinion, only facts. But then, it is just as Ilene says facts don't make them money.

Just an update to my original post...We no longer have cable TV in either of our houses. I installed an antenna in Montrose where we receive a handful of stations from Grand Junction, but seldom watched either network or local news. In Gillette, we might have 2 stations if I put up a tall antenna, but not sure. Anyway, I look over our local paper now and then--they carry local, national and world news--but seldom read any of the liberally-biased stories. My internet sources keep telling the stories of who did what to whom, and how the investigation is going...I just blow past them; no idea who is who. I figure mostly they doesn't affect me unless I allow them to jump-start my heart rhythm. What could any individual do about any of it anyway?
