What has happened to our country? I am heartsick at the events of late. I don't know if the two black men who were killed deserved to die...that's for investigations to determine. What I do know is that police officers in a totally different and far-removed city did not deserve to die because of those other deaths!
There was so much pain and bloodshed during the civil rights movement of the 1960s. After legislation was passed to right many of the wrongs, our country began a long healing process. We had things going, I felt, pretty well until the Trevon Martin case blew things open, and obama has been pouring salt on the open wounds ever since. He has proven himself to be a community organizer for sure. He's organized the violent side of people to where we're once again battling with and murdering each other.
At this point, I can't see any way to cure this except from Divine intervention. If you are a believer in God, pray for His Spirit to enter into the hearts of all of us, that we would learn patience and thoughtfulness for all of our fellow residents of this earth.
If you are a non-believer, might I suggest you look at how our country acted before Madeline O'hare had God kicked out of our schools and courts and government. Compare how we as a society behaved under Judeo-Christian practices with how we are acting now.
May God have mercy on those who have died, and on those who caused the deaths. May He protect those who work to protect us from each other. And may He turn our hearts away from hate, and towards love and respect for one another. Without those latter two emotions, there is little hope for us....
