In 2013, 10,076 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/impaired_driving/impaired-drv_factsheet.html .
According to heedinggodscall.org/content/pfctoolkit-10, each day 30 Americans are shot and murdered by guns. Multiplied out by 365 days, that equals 10,950 lives.
Statistically those numbers are nearly equal.
Each time a mass shooter hits on the scene the politicians get up on their bandwagons and proclaim that something needs to be done about gun violence in America. I totally agree with them.
But, while we're at it, when will something be done about drunk driving deaths? Are they seemingly less noticeable because they only occur at one or two or three at a time instead of 10 or 15? At what point of rate-of-deaths will the politicos begin to see the depth of this problem? Must there be multiple crashes killing 10 to 15 each for them to take notice?
A gun is a machine. A car is a machine. Both are operated by humans, making human decisions. Is it the gun's or car's fault when it IS USED to kill? No, it is the human's fault. Therein lies the problem, and perhaps the only solution.
If a means was discovered to analyze the mind prior to the sale of the gun or car, then maybe we could get a handle on things. Until then, the human mindset is what we need to be researching. The machines are innocent.

Bad water kills ---Ban bad water
Red meat can kill --- Ban red meat
Chicken can kill (salmonella) --- Ban chicken
Baseball can kill --- Ban baseball
etc ..etc...etc ...
People are so stupid to think it is the product and not the person operating or responsible for it that is at fault . Before long they are gonna get the gun bans and we are gonna be defending ourselves with sticks going bang bang .
