We are all ready for cold weather to go away We get sun, wind, sleet and snow all in one day. Spring and sun can come and stay So we can all come out to play.

The temps are rising The days are flying by, We are springing ahead tonight Tomorrow we will nap and sigh... Ah Spring!

Sometimes I yearn for days gone past When DJ drove the 88 fast. Those days when the colors were flying, Instead of today with Turn2 dying.
I remember friends who came here often, They would cause my heart to soften With joy from their daily posts. Each thread had a variety of hosts.
Now we seldom see visitors: New questions from inquisitors, Or happy news from members. Turn2 is barely glowing embers.
I still come here daily a couple times Just to see maybe new rhymes, Or thoughts on new NA$CAR rules Showing how they are such fools!
I hope that friends of old come back, But daily I see that new posts lack. I wonder where our togetherness went... Energies get otherwise spent.
DJ's mostly gone from the racing scene. Many members have made their break clean. "Days of old" won't return again. We're left only with "Days of when".

Leaves are falling and so are temps The outside work need to be done, Before you know it will be cold With snow and minimal sun.

Back in the day I saw twenty twenty Now it's twenty twenty my perspective is shot There was a time a twenty was a twenty Here in twenty twenty twenty won't buy squat
Thought twenty twenty be the jetsons Zooming around the atmoshpere in flying cars I thought by now we'd be trying to decide If we're gonna vacation on Venus or Mars
Pocket telephones made it We thought it'd be such a treat Would have never imagined Face to face conversations obsolete
Had big dreams for tomorrow Peace and harmony ruled the universe Some of the good got better A lot of bad got a whole lot worse
I used to think of the future Now I think about the past One thing in life never changes It moves along quite fast
Back in the day I saw twenty twenty Now it's twenty twenty my perspective is shot There was a time a twenty was a twenty Here in twenty twenty twenty won't buy squat

We're stuck inside for two reasons. One is conflict of the seasons... Spring is here, but it's hard to tell, Cuz snow has done come and fell!
The virus has us all locked up, We hope our TP is all stocked up. We're learning about our families again, Yet wondering "We get to go out when?"
A lot of house work's being done, And building crafts is loads of fun. Some are digging in their garden, Which makes our muscles hurt and harden.
This crisis will be gone someday, Then we can go out and play. Till then keep your upper lip stiff, And wear your mask when you take a whiff.

Times have changed and we try to adapt, Racing will be strange with every lap, We will keep the faith that is all we can do Pray to the Lord about this Corona flu.

The last time we saw this post Was nearly a year ago! With so few active folks, Things move mighty slow.
I like to see when someone comes And leaves their thoughts in print. But I think I'll try to use larger font So we don't have to squint!

This stupid virus has us all befuddled. Even science's guidelines are muddled. Can I eat in? Or must eat out? Am I allowed to travel about?
I've had it with this dreadful task! I'm sick of wearing a silly mask! I want to socialize with friends, Let's twist the rules with lots of bends!
The experts don't know which way's up. Their minds are flipped, like a newborn pup. We're told "Do this...Wait, don't do that." They're drawing suggestions from a hat!
"Follow the science!", they scream at us And expect we will get on that bus. If ever science decides what's best I might then follow the baaing rest.
But I'm not a sheep...I lead, not follow! The science they tell us to follow is hollow! I'll lead my life, just leave me alone! I'll leave rule-following to my clone.

Three years it's been since our last poem. We've shot the dog like Christy Noem. Turn2 has fallen quite apart! I wish we'd make a renewed start.
Just once again I'd like to see Turn2 the way it used to be. Friends stop in to just say hi and chat about our favorite guy.
Dale Jarrett was the main attraction, He always provided lots of action. But then he left...and so did members; They went their ways, leaving embers
Of what Turn2 was once about. They're gone. Abandoned. We're left out Of crowded chats and numerous posts. The mods feel like hapless hosts.
Our chats are thin and sometimes quiet, Not like before, which seemed a riot. We're few and very far apart, But really joined heart to heart.
I wish those days of yore were here... Some friendships made were oh so dear. Most have faded, now long past, Only a few are here to last.
I love my friends here on Turn2, I hope they feel the way I do. We'll carry on with talk 'bout racing And bear the future that we're facing.
