Since the USA didn't do anything to help Syria with their "uncivil" war, and we haven't done anything to help Ukraine with their "uncivil" war, or Israel with theirs, should we be doing what we're doing to help Iraq with theirs?
This world situation is a real sticky wicket!! We don't have enough resources to help everyone who needs help...including those in our OWN country! I think we're in a situation where we have to pick and choose, just like what we're doing.
I do believe that we should do less criticism and more support of Israel's stance and operations. They are our allies, and they have been attacked over and over and over. They have tried to keep peace, but how many cheeks do they have that they can keep turning another one? After awhile you strike back, as they have done, and it gets to the point where others take damage (civilians). Even considering so-called "rules of engagement", Hamas isn't fighting fair, so why should Israel?
Syria is behind us. We didn't do anything about their problems when we had a chance, so I feel we might as well continue our course as regards them. It's a real shame about what's happening there, but we're out of it.
Ukraine should rely on Europe for help if they need it, not USA.
In Iraq, there is a world-threatening force present...ISIS. If we don't deal with them there, we eventually will on our own soil...they've promised that they will come here. I believe like military experts are suggesting, that we ought to go in there and do more than we are. But I'll leave it up to them to suggest what that might be.
I fully expect the next hot spot will be somewhere in Africa. There is so much political corruption and civil unrest there, plus influence from extremist terrorists, that something is bound to explode soon.
JMHO on all subjects.......Bob
