The current fiasco known as the Veterans' Administration certainly isn't the fault of Pres. Obama or (now) former director Shinseki. This abominable display of non-caring has been going on for decades, and surely is the fault of every administration in that time period.
Lorraine dealt with the VA for 21 years in her work at the nursing home here, and always advised me to steer clear of it due to the lousy treatment her people received.
It's shameful that our country treats our vets with such disregard and thanklessness. I hope this current blowup causes some deep and sincere changes that allow our military heroes to get the proper treatment they deserve. Perhaps a lot less financial support given to our enemies would free up funds to fix this wrongdoing.

We are very fortunate to have a VA Hospital in Syracuse that does quite well. Friends in NC tell me they have few problems so I guess it is certain locations....too many for sure....that are really not performing well. Knowing full well that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were going to create a whole new generation of veterans should have been enough to compel congress to stop the cuts, approve the bill to build 21 new medical facilities and give our vets the care they deserve. Not everything needs to be political.
