Yeah, we're supposed to be "thankful" that gas prices have been dropping. Notice in the article that 2-1/2 years ago the national average was under $2. The left is hoping we'll be thankful enough for $4 gas that we'll gleefully accept it as the norm.

I have $0.95/gallon rewards that I have to use before the end of the month. If I wait until later in the month will I miss out or get an even better deal? Will need to put about 20 gallons in the tank so it will be a good savings.

18 August - Down a few more cents when I filled up today $4.33. Still cost more than $55.

20 August - What are they doing? Playing with the numbers? Today gas is $4.43.

23 August - They still are playing with the price. Today gas is $4.39.

24 August - This morning the price of gas is $4.36.

29 August - Down a couple more cents. $4.33.

29 August evening it is now down to $4.19

05 September another drop to $4.07.

Had fuel rewards for $0.95 per gallon that needed to be used by the end of the month. Had the choice to put about 8 gallons in the truck or 27 gallons in the van. Filled up the van at $4.33. This evening I drove past the station and the price had dropped to $4.19. Could have saved more but you never know what the price will be.

Just got a text message from Circle K. They normally run a $0.20 special monthly and send out a text. This one: "Pump prices will go down by 40 cents/gal. Circle K Fuel locations from 4-7 PM Sept 1." Since I need gas, guess I will be in line at 4:00.
