....to be angry over the fact that we still don't know what happened at Benghazi, Libya where Ambassador Stevens and 3 other Americans died in the attack on our embassy? Am I wrong to be upset that numerous Congressional committees have looked into that "event" and have told us that they still don't have enough information, yet haven't come up with any more yet?
A recent article I read stated that our military command in Africa wasn't aware that the temporary embassy had been set up in Benghazi after the official embassy in Tripoli was damaged in an attack on it. Why? Six requests from Ambassador Stevens for additional security, prior to the attack that took his life, were denied by our State Department. Numerous requests for aid were sent during the attack, but were turned down. Why? Even if Benghazi was too far from responding forces to have made a difference, which I don't believe, there should have been a response nonetheless.
All that our government has done with this incessant delaying is further embolden our enemies. Look what's happening in Iraq, areas of Africa, Egypt, and all around the world. Our leaders need to get off the pot they're sitting on (or smoking) and do some justice for those survivors of the heinous acts that our enemies have inflicted on us. This is not crowd control, it's not a police action...This is WAR!!

I don't think you are wrong for feeling that way. I feel that way also and think that there is a whole bunch of facts that are being covered up.

I believe that "anger" is the wrong word.
“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.” “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” Prince Gautama Siddharta
If there is something you can do to correct the wrong then do it. If there is nothing you can do then just observe and pray for justice. Ilene Strong

You can continue being angry but it won't change the facts. Mistakes were made, lives were lost and lessons were learned and the great Republican Conspiracy Theory lives on.
The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, better known as the Senate Intelligence Committee, published an 85-page report on the attack that left four Americans dead in Benghazi in September 2012. Its findings will likely seem pretty familiar.
The State Department’s failure to heed warnings and requests for more security by diplomatic staff left the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, and its CIA annex vulnerable to the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks that ultimately took the lives of four Americans, according to an unclassified Senate Intelligence Committee report released Wednesday.
The investigation makes clear, there was no “stand down” order; Susan Rice did nothing wrong; and there was no White House interference with the creation of post-attack talking points. Indeed, of all the various Republican allegations about a conspiracy, there remains literally no evidence to bolster the far-right paranoia.
Over the course of the last 15 months, the deadly attack in Benghazi has now been investigated by:
* the independent State Department Accountability Review Board, led by former Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen and career diplomat Thomas Pickering;
* the Senate Intelligence Committee;
* the Senate Armed Services Committee;
* the House Intelligence Committee,
* the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee;
* the House Armed Services Committee;
* the House Committee on Oversight & Government Reform;
* and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
And those are just the official investigations, led by current and former U.S. officials, and don’t include investigative reports from journalists at major news organizations.
After all of this scrutiny, there’s still no evidence of a cover-up or a conspiracy. None. The allegations raised by the Obama administration’s fiercest and angriest critics are still without substantiation.
The Republicans claim the president and Susan Rice both knew it was an organized terrorist attack and deliberately sent Susan Rice to tell the American people it was not. It doesn’t matter that they’re wrong; they don’t care. They start with the conclusion and try to work backwards to find evidence that satisfies their goal. If the evidence doesn’t match the preconceived answer, then there’s a problem with the evidence, not the assumptions.

Despite your beliefs and my beliefs, 4 Americans died and nothing has been done about it. Pres. Obama said the people responsible would be held accountable. Here we are 1½ years later and no-one has been tried, let alone even captured. Despite our beliefs either way, the fact remains that NOTHING was done to avert the attack before it began (despite pleas for added security), nor was anything done to alleviate the attack once it began. Four Americans' lives were forfeited because no-one in authority took any action. It just makes me wonder how many other embassy officials and security personnel are at risk because our government isn't listening to them?
My thinking is that what was done in Benghzi wasn't mistakes. They were acts of omission, blatant ignoring of pleas for help. Mistakes can be forgiven, wanton acts can't. Punishments should be dealt out to those responsible. Hillary lied, Barack lied, and I think Susan Rice lied. Hillary, Obama and several military leaders ignored those victims, and ought to be charged with reckless endangerment, at the very least. And while we're at it, Congress ought to be charged with dereliction of duty for not getting to the bottom of it by now. You'd think there would be enough caring individuals inside our Legislature who would be concerned enough to make sure things got completely investigated and solved. We're back to the days of Carter and Clinton where terrorist acts took American lives and no-one paid for it. At least under Bush, the enemy felt our anger and suffered losses themselves.
As I said, this is a war we're engaged in, a war that we're fighting under our restrictive rules, a war that allows them to fight under their anything-goes rules, a war that we're bound to lose the same as VietNam if we continue to do the same old thing. There's a saying in the fire service: "If what you're doing isn't working, then try something else". I think it's past time for the USA to do that.

Don't know how you arrived at your everyone lied opinion when all investigations prove otherwise. If you really want to place blame, aim it at the Bush administration which first denied additional funding for security and, in fact, reduced the budget for it. When Ambassador Stevens requested added security for the consulate he did not ask for it for the outpost where this tragedy took place. It was unexpected though the region was rife for an attack. No one has been found or tried for the crimes committed but not for lack of trying. I challenge anyone to find those responsible. You speak of Carter and Clinton and terrorist acts which took American lives and "no one paid for it." Well, I'm still pissed about 9/11 when there was plenty of intel and no one did a sorry thing. I'm still upset about the unwarranted Iraq war which cost thousands of lives. I'm furious with Great Britain for releasing the Pan Am 103 bomber back to Libya. I remember President Bush saying he would track down and bring to justice those responsible for 9/11. The ones who carried out the attack were dead and it was the Obama Administration who took down Bin Laden. We'll never "win" a war in the middle east. The cultures, religion and deep-seated hatred between sects runs too deep. But dwelling on could haves and should haves and placing blame doesn't bring back the lives lost. We learn from our mistakes and move on.

You and Obama are still blaming Bush for today's events. This president has had more than 6 years, excuse me only 5 before the Benghazi murders, to get HIS house in order. HE is the commander now and has been since 2008. HE failed to protect those in Benghazi. I don't care who reduced funds, HE had 5 years to change that, but didn't, and therefore failed to protect those people. HIS administration has reduced funding for our military to the point that we are weaker than we were when he took over. No, his administration didn't catch bin Laden...it was the Navy SEALS, and some of them died in a later attack after someone in his administration leaked the names of the group.
I agree with you that we will never win the middle east war. What we are fighting for over there isn't embraced by the residents of the area. I agree with Obama's pulling us out of there. Perhaps if we get our troops back here, we'll have more resources to fend off the jihadists on our own land, because make no mistake about it...they are out to get us, whether it be over there or over here.

Bob, I am a Mom, a sister, an auntie, a cousin, a grandmother and Benghazi sickens me. It DOES MATTER now and will matter in those family's lives until the day they die also. It was a senseless massacre with absolutely NO help from the American government to protect or fight for their embassy and its personnel. Embarrassing. I do not think I would have done nothing but let those men die. I hope to God I would not have done nothing.
