Still 2.80 here. Now that I've said something, watch it rise!
I saw also that diesel fuel is 3.31. Considering that the initial cost of a diesel engine is higher, oil changes cost more, and fuel costs more, I don't think buying a diesel is so wise, even though they do get somewhat better mileage.

Someday I'll learn to keep my mouth shut. A few days ago it rose to 2.90.

We are still sitting at $3.23 but the state is talking about raising the gas tax another 15 cents. Are they trying to compete with CA? Washington does do a better job of maintaining the roads than many states so they do put the taxes where they belong.
Current gas tax rates: Gas Taxes State 26.40 Alaska 32.40 Wyoming 40.40 Colorado 40.40 Iowa 41.40 Delaware 46.20 Kentucky 46.20 Montana 55.90 Washington 61.30 Michigan 68.00 Hawaii 69.00 California 69.60 New York

Do I understand correctly that those numbers are a percentage of the price at the pump? In other words, 32.4% of Wyoming's price is due to taxes? Or is it 32.4 cents per gallon?

So you are paying 0.324 WY fuel tax plus federal excise tax of 0.184 per gallon plus any local tax plus transportation to the fuel station on top of what the refinery charges. The refinery has to pay transportation from the oil field plus what it costs the oil company to pump it out of the ground. Each step along the way adds a bit for their profit.

I saw one station yesterday at 2.78 and another at 2.76. I'd better go fill up both vehicles since I have a 2¢ discount card at the cheapest place.

Don't know what is causing the up and down but ours was up to $3.18 and has come down some to $3.07, after I bought on Monday for $2.81. Guess I finally picked the right day.
