Down to $4.17. Was over to Kennewick today and saw a couple stations at $3.98. Was in Benton City this evening, both stations were $4.27.

Can you explain this?
Driving into town to get some groceries and the price was still $4.11 Coming home it was down to $3.71. Drove around the block to do a double take at the price; yes it was $3.71.
Something must be happening.

Interesting history on gas prices. This list ended in 2020. The inflation adjusted is to 2020 prices.
In 1939 - Absolute gas price: $0.17 - Inflation-adjusted price: $3.16 (#16 most expensive year in 84-year span)
In 1998 - Absolute gas price: $1.06 - Inflation-adjusted price: $1.68 (#1 least expensive year in 84-year span) (Clinton)
In 1999 - Absolute gas price: $1.17 - Inflation-adjusted price: $1.81 (#2 least expensive year in 84-year span) (Clinton) In 2008 - Absolute gas price: $3.27 - Inflation-adjusted price: $3.92 (#3 most expensive year in 84-year span) In 2011 - Absolute gas price: $3.53 - Inflation-adjusted price: $4.05 (#2 most expensive year in 84-year span) (Obama) In 2012 - Absolute gas price: $3.64 - Inflation-adjusted price: $4.09 ( #1 most expensive year in 84-year span) (Obama) In 2019 - Absolute gas price: $2.64 - Inflation-adjusted price: $2.66 ( #35 least expensive year in 84-year span) (Trump) 2023 If gas was $4.00 Inflation adjusted would be $3.36 (approximately #12 most expensive year in 84-year span)

3.20 over at Safeway!!!
Our granddaughter and hubby were here from Iowa for Christmas. He said in Iowa gas is, I think, 2.70-something.
There's no logical explanation for such variance across the country.
