I love grocery points! It's feeding ourselves and our vehicles at lower price.
Paid 2.76 today at Safeway, 50¢ off per gallon.

Our gas is still at $4.69. Think that I have about thirty cents on my rewards from May that I will use at the next fill up. Have not been getting that many reward points because Fred Meyer food prices have been going up fast and I no longer do most of my shopping there. Yokes is less expensive on most things I buy but it is strictly a grocery store, no electronics, hardware or garden shop. Plus they are two miles closer.

What you save at Yokes likely pays the grocery points on gas. I guess the secret is to not go anywhere, thereby not using any gas...

Jumped today to $4.79. We have got to love Jay Inslee.

Well, we are now up to $4.89. Over in San Juan, west of Seattle, gas is $5.96. Gas is more expensive now in Washington than in Hawaii ( Lihue Hawaii $5.22) or California as per AAA report. Inslee's carbon tax plan has not been fully implemented. We could be up $7.00 by this fall.
It might be worth it to buy a few gas cans, throw them into the back of the pickup and drive the 30 miles down to Oregon. In Umitilla gas is only $3.87. If my truck is using $0.24 of gas per mile it would cost $14.40 to drive down and back. Of course you would need to calculate cost of the gas cans and other costs to drive the truck. Over time it would pay off. There are individuals in Spokane and Vancouver that drive over the state line to gas up but they only have a few miles to drive.
Spokane sits on the Idaho border with Post Falls, ID right on the border. Depending where you live in Spokane it could be less than a 5 mile drive. Gas in Spokane is $4.79 and in Post Falls it is $3.99.
And in Mississippi you can find gas for $2.96.

That vast difference isn't explainable with just the difference in gas taxes. There are other, hidden from us, costs, such as greed.
I'd love to have inside knowledge...

It seems there's a gas shortage in Montrose. I see reports online of customers finding stations with empty tanks. One person said they found 4 empty stations before they finally got filled at Safeway. One explanation is that the depot in Grand Junction is down, but that hasn't been confirmed. I shoulda filled my car yesterday!

Well, I filled today at Safeway, no problems. It was still 3.78, but I got 40¢ off with points.

Gas up yesterday to $4.99.
Got gas Monday when it was still $4.89 minus $1.05 in rewards so only paid $3.84. Bad thing was that I filled the van rather than the truck, 30 gallons.

Don't know what games they are playing with gas prices. Today the price dropped back to $4.89.

California usually leads the nation and is currently at a sky-high $4.85 per gallon, but this year it has been eclipsed by Washington state at a hefty $4.98 per gallon. The reason is clear – costly climate change policies adopted by both states – and it provides lessons for the rest of the nation.
The cheapest gas is in Mississippi at $2.96 per gallon, and several other states are under $3.30. This gives a real-world yardstick of what is possible at current oil prices.

Montrose is at 3.84, more than a dollar under what you're paying. If we don't kick out the current administration in next year's vote, the whole country will be paying this and more. We've GOT to take back our country!
